Soundproofing your home means you are decreasing the amount of noise, if not totally preventing it from entering your home. There are a lot of materials that you can use to soundproof your home. For a practical and efficient option, choose polystyrene.

Polystyrene for soundproofing?

Why not? Polystyrene is a versatile type of material – it can be shaped into any size imaginable as well as excellent in soundproofing your home. Soundproofing doesn’t just prevent outside noise from coming in, but it can also provide you with some privacy. You can sing your heart out in the shower and you won’t have to worry about your neighbours hearing you at all!

Polystyrene performs really well in absorbing and blocking sound transmissions compared to other materials. However, you should take note that polystyrene only works as an efficient sound absorber when placed between two materials such as sheet rock and plywood leaves. Polystyrene exhibits sound proofing properties making them a good material if you want to block the noise.
